Grimm Acres Homestead is moving to a 10 acre farm!
Join us on our permaculture journey as we build at our new location. We've added goats and more chickens so far but we have a list of farm animals that we will be adding. Bantams, pigs, sheep, turkeys, peacocks and maybe even an emu or two.
This winter we are working on our Grimm Acres YouTube channel. We will be inviting you into our homestead to see what we do and how we do it. Everything from raising quail and chickens, gardening, butterfly pinning, bone cleaning, guitar customizing, and all the other things we do around the homestead. Meet some of the wildlife ambassadors and see some behind the scenes work with the wildlife rehabbers and rescues that we work with.
At Grimm Acres we breed and raise our quail on organic and natural diets for their eggs and meat. While we do raise quail for our own food source, we also raise them as food for injured birds of prey and animal ambassadors to provide them proper nutrition while they heal. We utilize the entire animal, nothing goes to waste.

We raise Cutornix and Rosetta Quail that carry the Celadon (blue egg) genetics. The Lavender color gene is also present in our breeding stock and we hope to have some show up in a clutch to be raised as pets, as their color mutation makes them less outdoor hardy. Quail make great indoor pets too, similar to keeping a guinea pig!

Grimm Acres is a no-wire homestead. We do not raise animals in small cages on wire. Our quail are as close to free range as is possible with a flight bird. They have their own barn and aviary.
